Palmer Luckey’s Anduril Industries is raising a multibillion-dollar funding round that would value the defense-tech company at $60 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal. Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz are co-leading the round, with Lux Capital and Founders Fund also expected to participate.

Valuation Doubled in Less Than a Year

The round would come less than a year after Anduril’s Series G, which closed in June 2025 with $2.5 billion at a $30 billion valuation. A previous Bloomberg report suggested the new round could bring in as much as $8 billion of fresh capital. At $60 billion, Anduril would double its valuation in under twelve months — a pace that reflects both investor appetite for defense tech and the company’s growing contract pipeline.

The Anthropic Shadow

The timing is sharp. After the Pentagon moved to cancel all contracts with Anthropic over the AI company’s refusal to support autonomous weapons and mass surveillance, a vacuum opened in the government’s AI supply chain. Secretary of Defense Hegseth has threatened to designate Anthropic a supply-chain risk, sending a clear signal about which companies Washington wants to work with — and which ones it doesn’t.

Luckey has not been subtle about where he stands. “At the end of the day, you have to believe that our imperfect constitutional republic is still good enough to run a country without outsourcing the real levers of power to billionaires and corpos and their shadow advisors,” he wrote on X. The message landed as a thinly veiled shot at Anthropic’s position — and a pitch for Anduril as the defense sector’s AI company of choice.
