Editorial Standards
How we report. What we stand for. Why it matters.
Ceowire is committed to accurate, fair, and independent journalism. These standards guide every story we publish — from breaking news to in-depth CEO portraits.
Accuracy & Verification
Every claim we publish must be verifiable. We rely on primary sources — official filings, on-the-record statements, public data, and direct documentation. When reporting on events like Jack Dorsey's decision to lay off 4,000 Block employees, we cite the CEO's own public memo and embed the original source material so readers can verify the facts themselves.
If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top of the affected article.
Independence
Ceowire has no corporate parent, no venture backers dictating coverage, and no advertising relationships that influence editorial decisions. Our reporting is funded by readers, not by the companies we cover.
We do not accept payment for coverage. We do not run sponsored content disguised as news. If a piece is sponsored or branded, it will be clearly labeled as such.
Fairness & Context
Tech stories are rarely black and white. When we report on controversial decisions — such as profitable companies using AI narratives to justify mass layoffs — we present the company's stated reasoning alongside critical analysis and the perspectives of those affected.
We seek comment from all relevant parties before publication. If a subject declines to comment, we note that in the story.
Sourcing & Attribution
- We embed original source material (tweets, memos, filings) directly in our reporting whenever possible
- Anonymous sources are used only when the information is of significant public interest and cannot be obtained on the record
- We clearly distinguish between reported facts, analysis, and opinion
- External data, quotes, and media are always attributed to their original source
Conflicts of Interest
Our journalists are required to disclose any financial interests in companies they cover. Ceowire staff may not hold equity, advisory roles, or paid relationships with companies in their coverage area.
Corrections Policy
When we identify an error — whether factual, contextual, or typographical — we correct it as soon as possible. Significant corrections include a note at the top of the article explaining what was changed and when. Minor corrections (typos, formatting) are made without a separate note.
